Omicron – plague or common cold?

Should you be worried? Possibly, but perhaps not about Omicron.

After you finish smirking after seeing the national and social media overflowing with headlines and commentary about the “new and improved” Covid-19 variant named Omicron, there are some very interesting data about Omicron.

If the “news” only exacerbated your long-standing Covid-19 fear factor, you may not want to finish reading this newsletter.

Is this a new Covid-19 plague?

In an article By Bill Gertz – The Washington Times – Wednesday, December 1, 2021 we learn that Omicron appears to be different from all the other “variants” like the much-hyped “Delta” variant that is said to be the version currently infecting many of those who are “fully vaccinated” (however our would-be dictators are defining that state).

Viruses, according to medical experts, tend to evolve from existing viruses that are already circulating, such as the delta variant, not from the first virus strain that emerged in China. Beijing has thwarted efforts by U.S. and international investigators to obtain details of the original strain.

However, the omicron variant appears to have derived directly from the original SARS-CoV-2 virus, one that has not been observed in the wild in months.

The report said omicron has 50 mutations in all and 32 are linked to the spike protein that allows it to gain entry into host cells. The spike protein is the target of most current vaccines.

This has raised worries that the strain will have an extraordinary ability to infect humans, although reports so far say that most cases of the omicron strain of COVID-19 have been mild. [Emphasis – CW]

Have you seen the predictions from the vaunted World Health Organization (WHO)?

The World Health Organization says the global risk from the Omicron variant of the coronavirus is “very high” based on early evidence, and it could lead to surges with “severe consequences”[Emphasis – CW]

Ok, so the financial news media blamed Omicron for a partial stock market crash which the Washington Post called November 26th “Black Friday II” – the second Friday in a row when the market lost value.

BF II takes its name from the fact that the U.S. stock market got clobbered Nov. 26, with the Dow falling more than 900 points (about 2.5 percent) and the S&P 500 and Nasdaq markets each falling by about 2.2 percent. In terms of money lost, my favorite metric, the FT Wilshire 5000 Total Market Index, fell by about $1.2 trillion, which was its biggest dollar loss since Oct. 28, 2020, when it fell $1.25 trillion.

As of December 4, 2021 there have been no deaths and only a few hospitalizations identified as caused by Omicron.

Could it be that Omicron is a variant of the common cold?

While certainly not a reliable source of news and information, MSNBC filed a report on their website yesterday in which we learn that Omicron might be a version of the common cold!

Researchers from Nference, a Cambridge, Mass.-based firm that analyzes biomedical information, sequenced omicron and found a snippet of genetic code that is also present in a virus that can bring about a cold. They say this particular mutation could have occurred in a host simultaneously infected by SARS-CoV-2, also known as the novel coronavirus, and the HCoV-229E coronavirus, which can cause the common cold. The shared genetic code with HCoV-229E has not been detected in other novel coronavirus variants, the scientists said.

The omicron variant is likely to have picked up genetic material from another virus that causes the common cold in humans, according to a new preliminary study, prompting one of its authors to suggest omicron could have greater transmissibility but lower virulence than other variants of the coronavirus. So which is it – a new Covid-19 plague or an outbreak of the common cold?

It’s too early to answer that question but it does bring up some interesting possibilities:

  1. Does anyone think that “scientists” have been examining the genetic structure of a wide variety of the common cold virus over the last 50 years? Has this virus or a similar version been causing your nose to run for years?
  2. Some people are hospitalized each year with severe colds; some have to be careful not to let the infections advance into pneumonia or other problems.
  3. What if this is just another “false alarm” like the ones used to implement shut-downs, in home incarcerations, closing businesses, churches and schools?

If the public were not continually scared into insanity, it would be obvious to all that the original Covid-19 “plan” included preventing “herd immunity”.

By frightening the citizenry into masking, social distancing, accepting in-home incarceration, closing of churches and businesses that invited human interaction, that lack of interaction prevented the infection of much of the entire population and the development of herd immunity.

For those infected, the naturally immune showed few or no symptoms, most others would have relatively minor symptoms and develop antibodies, T-cells etc. that would also reject the variants or again limit the symptoms.

But most were prevented from being infected by the original Covid-19 virus.

Had the virus been treated like the usual “flu season”, there would have been deaths -primarily of the elderly and others with “co-morbidities”; children have been shown to be almost universally immune to the original virus.

That toll might have been slightly higher than for a normal flu season but certainly not that of a bona fide plague.

However, a majority of Americans were not exposed to Covid-19 and had no chance to develop herd immunity.

As the infection peaked in 2020, the death tolls were tracked in the media like fanatic investors watching the stock market. We now know that New York, New Jersey and Michigan and some other states condemned many of those elderly, infirm residents of nursing homes to a death without their families who were quarantined or not permitted to visit.

Since those assigning the causes of death were given government cash incentives for attributing to Covid-19, we have no idea what the actual death toll from Covid-19 would have been had not the government interfered.

Instead of herd immunity, “vaccines” were introduced which have already been shown to be ineffective. What immunity they provide is often gone within 3 months. In at least some cases, they negate part of or all of the natural immunity developed by the mild infections . The vaccines may have been responsible for at least a few thousand deaths and many more ill effects in reaction to the vaccines.

My guess for the future?

One of two things and I hope and pray it’s the first.

  1. Omicron proves to be little if any more lethal than the common cold. Noticing that the media scare tactics were just that, people begin to wake up and see what is really going on with the vaccines, mandates, lock-downs etc. Gradually, the US begins to recover from the disasters caused by power-hungry politicians, businesses and the medical infrastructure.
  2. It’s a “petri dish” environment infecting primarily those who have been vaccinated but also those who have resisted vaccination. It’s most likely that if not Omicron, other variants will continue to emerge until a variant is developed that is highly contagious and lethal. It might even be introduced into the population by those who created the original virus just as was the original Covid-19.That will ratchet up the death toll so the “progressives” and those who wish to forcibly reduce the world population will have the opportunity to move on to “the great reset” – universal, socialist/communist government control.
